I’m so excited to finally share the Buhz-en, a short story. It’s been on a long journey.
The Buhz-en started as a small idea—something I wrote in a single sitting. It was just to capture a strange sound and feeling that lingered in my head. But a close friend read it and said, “This could be something much bigger.” That one comment changed everything.
We even began developing an app based on the world of Buhz-en, blending sound, story, and visuals into an interactive experience. It was an ambitious project. But for a thousand different reasons, life had other plans, and that version of it went on pause.
Even while I was working on my other characters, like my Halloween Song, this story just keep coming back. It wouldn’t completely go away. Maybe, it felt like it needed a good off sent off even though it was on a pause.
The things that must be done to move on
When I revisited it recently, I realized the original draft wasn’t enough. It felt like a glimpse into something larger, not the full story it could be. So I began expanding it—adding new scenes, deepening the tone, and shaping it into something that stands on its own. What emerged is a complete, standalone Buhz-en short story that finally captures the mystery and tension I always felt beneath it.
Now, after months of rewritign and efining, the Buhz-en short story finally feels complete. It’s a self-contained piece that carries the same spark that started it all, only now it has room to breathe. I’m proud to share that the Buhz-en short story is now available on Amazon, marking a new chapter in this creative journey that’s been years in the making.
This marks not just the end of one creative phase but the start of another. Soon after launch, I’ll be focusing on the audio adaptation—bringing the story’s world to life through voice, sound design, and atmosphere.
