Weather in the Pacific Northwest
Another summer June day in the Pacific Northwest has turned into a cloudy day,
But that’s not gonna stop me from going outside––not today.
I’m grabbing my hiking boots and putting it over the wool socks that I got at a discount at REI.
Now I am going to put on my light rain jacket if those rain clouds turn to raindrops.
The weatherman says it is partly cloudy,
But I know, that might change any minute.
Siri says there is no chance of rain,
But how can a computer assistant who never got wet,
Know about the ecosystem here.
She has done me wrong one morning while I was getting ready for work,
Telling me that there was no chance of rain when I asked her ” Hey Siri, what is the weather going to be like today?”
Only to find out for myself that the rain came pouring down that evening after work in the midst of my walking commute from downtown to the bus station,
Oh, I had to run fast in those stylish shoes, that I was expecting to only to walk in.
But I am ok, I guess even computers make errors. Besides, she takes good pictures even of the rainy weather, she hasn’t experienced.
Now, I got my hot coffee in my stainless steel mug and my fresh baked scones and my store bought berries in the snack box.
I am going outside and say hello to Mt. Rainier,
No, you can’t see her today because the grey and white clouds hide her majesty.
But I know where she hides when she doesn’t want to be seen.
The clouds do cover her so well that you would question if she exists if you have never seen her before,
As soon as I greet her, I would be off hiking in the woods,
And I will be back with pictures of the evergreens.
