The Process

While writing the short novel, Scider the Wizard Cat,  there were a few scenes that I talk about flowers. For that, I stepped outside to smell the flowers.

The roses were always out in the backyard.  I can see the buds form in May and fulls blooms in June.  Occasionally, I would come and sniff the pink ones and yellow ones, though I never tend to pay so much attention to them until I started writing.
These past months I have been studying them closely and started taking so many pictures of them.  Thought my characters may lead me into the garden, I think I got carried away on my own or by the rose’s sweet seductions.   As I got close to them, oh my their fragrances that they release was better than any perfume I smelled.  It was definitely garden aromatherapy.  I can’t believe that I never took the extra time to stop and smell the roses in the front yard that often.

The rose gallery

For the past two months, I woke up and went out to my tiny garden and then just started shooting.  I also moved from garden to garden (my neighbor’s or public rose gardens) to shoot pictures of red, white, yellow, peach, and pink roses.  Since I had been taking tons of pictures, I thought I would share some of them.  In fact, I decided to turn to make a virtual rose gallery.

Photo challenges

I am learning photography and there were a few challenges.
While taking the shots, the wind blew many times or the sun was out casting shadows or there were insects that admired the roses.
I was surprised to see how many insects were attracted, some are even under the petals well hidden.
I didn’t’ mind the insects, it is after all part of nature.
Anyway, I decided to give a title to each of the photos.
